In addition to the research described on our "research page", some of the more current and future questions we will be aiming to address are: - How does a new gene change previously established functional networks as revealed through Drosophila gene-gene interaction maps? - What are the phenotypic consequences of new genes and how are these targeted by evolutionary forces? - What are the genetic components behind courtship behaviors in Drosophila and how do "courtship genes" originate and evolve in fruit flies?
A favorite quote of mine: It is the new dawn! Behind the sheer black cliff rises the golden glory of the invisible sun. Almost falling Christophe at last reaches "Here we are! How heavy thou wert! Child, who art thou?" The child answers: "I am the day soon to be born" Romain Rolland: Jean Christophe
