The
University of Chicago (and not the Division of Biological Sciences or the
Pritzker School of Medicine) both establishes the criteria for promotion and
decides when these criteria have been satisfies. Implicit in the promotion process is the need to communicate
one's accomplishments to faculty who are neither biological scientists
nor clinicians. You may prefer the world worked otherwise, but
that's the way it is. Please
