Requirements specific to Clinical Scholar Track

Reappointment is all about assessing your readiness for PROMOTION TO ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR in this track and devising solutions to any problems.  Following the PROMOTION TO ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR link will educate you on the criteria for the next step.

The principal requirement for reappointment in this track is that you have demonstrated that you are en route to qualifying for promotion to associate professor and tenure by ~9 months before the end of the proposed second term assistant professor – or if not, that that there are feasible interventions that would allow you to do so.

This includes:

>A program of scholarship that will yield sufficient knowledge to qualify for promotion.

>A good start on external recognition as a scholar in your field.

>A significant, excellent, and documented program of education

>A significant and excellent program of clinical activity

>A feasible plan for mentorship and career development that will culminate in promotion

>If any of the above are problematic, feasible solutions to these problems.

SCHOLARSHIP, RECOGNITION, EDUCATION, and CLINICAL ACTIVITY are described in the pages on PROMOTION TO ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR in this track , which should be consulted.  Some issues specific to reappointment are discussed in the following pages...
