The Jean Mitchell Watson endowment was established in 1993 through a
generous $25,000 pledge from renowned biologist James D. Watson. The
donation was made in memory of Dr. Watson’s mother to honor her long
association with the University. Over the years many eminent
evolutionary biologists have been featured by the event, a majority of
them specialists in the field’s nucleic acid underpinnings at Dr.
Watson’s request.
Sean
