The
Department of Ecology and Evolution is one of the 16 departments and
Committees that make up the four clusters of the Biological Sciences
Division at the University of Chicago. Committees were created to
facilitate interdisciplinary research, bringing together professors
with primary appointments in several departments, to meet the needs of
students interested in integrative biology. As shown in the diagram
above, departments and committees are grouped in four clusters
according to focus areas. The department of Ecology and Evolution is
part of the Darwinian Cluster, where we share a common interest in
Evolutionary Biology. The Biological Sciences Division has
approximately 800 faculty members, allowing for collaboration with and
guidance from experts in a very wide range of scientific specialties.
Students in the Darwinian Cluster can establish collaboration with the
Field Museum of Natural History, Brookfield Zoo, or Argonne National
Laboratory.
